Counting down

I realised that there aren't that many weeks (or days for that matter) left till moving day and wedding day. I have done zilch with the packing. Yesterday I was rather dismayed when the BFG went through the online booking process for the removalists and ticked "NO" to the packing service. I could easily have paid for help from complete strangers packing up my knickers.

As for the wedding, I feel like I've been pretty laid back (apart from my Bridezilla moments with the BFG), I've made some pretty definite decisions about the wedding. I bought my wedding dress off the rack from Carla Zampatti, booked our wedding venue after just checking out one place, printed off our invitations ourselves with the help of someone in our Presentations team at work, etc.

But for some reason, I was really hung up about having blue shoes for my wedding. I think it might have something to do with the fact that I saw a really nice pair of robin egg blue Mary Janes with a cream trim on a wedding site and had it in my head that I should be married in a pair like that. Needless to say, I found NOTHING that remotely resembled that perfect pair of shoes pictured in my imagination. I looked on the American eBay site for Chie Mihara shoes, contacted the one and only supplier of Fluvog in Australia (in Melbourne!) to see if they have anything close to it and even contemplated getting a pair made.

Before I actually resorted to such Bridezilla foolishness (and cause serious damage to my credit card), I found a pair of blue vintage Ferragamo T-strap shoes on Etsy. They came today in the mail all the way from France!! Oh how I love online shopping! And I doubly love the Australian Dollar sitting at parity with the US Dollar!!

  1. I am looking forward to photos :o) and thrilled you have a dress at last!

  2. Vintage wedding shoes. You've got the something old covered then. Yay. Oh, don't go the short cut before the wedding. You might not like it. After that though, the thumbs up. It's such a change and so fun to be a new you.
